Need a Roof Layout, Quote, or Order?
This limited warranty applies only to Snow Arc Guard™ brackets manufactured or sold by Sands Works for use on the Stile Spanish Tile metal roofing system. The covered roof panel must be a Stile Spanish Tile metal panel with a Kynar 500® surface finish and a cosine-wave profile matching the Stile Spanish Tile profile manufactured by Best Buy Metals, unless Sands Works provides written project-specific approval for another roof panel or roof condition.
Covered Snow Arc Guard™ bracket models are:
· SAG 004 Snow Break Guard
· SAG 010 SeaShell
· SAG 011 Heart
· SAG 012 Block
· SAG 015 Oval
This warranty covers only the Snow Arc Guard™ brackets. It does not cover the roof system, roofing panels, installation labor, adhesive, fasteners or accessories not manufactured by Sands Works, property damage, snow or ice release, or any other material or condition except as expressly stated in this warranty.
The warranty period is ten (10) years. The same ten-year period applies to covered manufacturing defects, covered calculator-layout errors, and covered normal weather-related color fading or UV degradation. No longer warranty period applies unless Sands Works provides a written warranty extension signed or otherwise approved in writing by Sands Works.
For direct customer purchases, the warranty period begins on the date the product is delivered to the customer or shipping destination shown in the order record. Sands Works does not use the installation date as the default start date because installation may occur later and may not be independently trackable.
For contractor-stocked or bulk-purchased products installed later on a specific home, the warranty period begins on the documented installation date only if the homeowner or contractor provides enough information for Sands Works to associate the installation with a specific house and layout record. At minimum, this should include the installation address, installation date, related ORID/order number when available, installed model(s), and the layout drawing used. If that information is not provided or cannot be verified, the warranty period may be measured from the original bulk order delivery date or may be unavailable if Sands Works cannot reasonably verify the installation record.
This warranty stays with the house or building on which the covered Snow Arc Guard™ brackets were installed. A later homeowner may make a warranty claim during the remaining warranty period if the claimant can provide enough information for Sands Works to verify the order, installation location, and layout drawing used for the roof section involved.
This warranty does not create separate or renewed warranty periods for later owners, later occupants, contractors, or installers. The ten-year period remains tied to the original covered product delivery date or the documented installation date accepted by Sands Works for a contractor-stocked installation.
The generated Snow Arc Guard™ layout drawing is considered part of the product. The warranty applies only when the installed system substantially matches the approved layout drawing or a written replacement layout issued by Sands Works.
To qualify for warranty consideration, the brackets must be installed according to one of the following:
· The Snow Arc Guard™ Calculator App generated layout drawing for the customer-entered roof inputs.
· A custom layout drawing, written replacement layout, or written project-specific layout approval provided by Sands Works.
If brackets are not installed according to the generated layout drawing, a custom Sands Works layout, or a written replacement layout issued by Sands Works, the warranty is void for the affected roof section.
The customer, installer, contractor, or homeowner is responsible for entering and preserving accurate roof measurements, roof shape, roof pitch, panel length, snow depth, model selection, and other required inputs. Incorrect measurements or incorrect roof-type selection can produce an incorrect layout and may void warranty coverage.
Technical layout review means Sands Works reviews submitted roof inputs and layout conditions for Snow Arc Guard™ bracket placement. It is not a structural roof evaluation, roof inspection, building-code review, or professional engineering certification unless Sands Works expressly states otherwise in writing.
The warranty is not intended to make customers or installers feel as if coverage is lost over every minor field condition. The installed system substantially matches the approved layout when the installation preserves the engineering assumptions of the layout drawing.
· Installing additional brackets beyond the quantity shown on the layout.
· Installing brackets closer together than the maximum spacing shown on the layout, provided all required row heights and required locations are preserved.
· Substituting a stronger Snow Arc Guard™ model for a weaker model used in the layout, such as using SAG 015 Oval brackets where a layout was generated for SAG 004, SAG 010, SAG 011, or SAG 012 brackets.
· Relocating a physically obstructed bracket under the obstruction rule in this warranty, provided the layout row heights and required bracket coverage are preserved as closely as practical.
· Omitting brackets shown on the layout.
· Installing brackets farther apart than shown on the layout.
· Ignoring required row heights or placing rows at different roof-panel lip locations than shown on the layout.
· Ignoring edge-relief, edge-case, dense-stagger, or special placement brackets shown on the layout.
· Substituting a weaker Snow Arc Guard™ model for a stronger model used in the layout. For example, a layout generated for SAG 015 Oval brackets may not be fulfilled with SAG 004, SAG 010, SAG 011, or SAG 012 brackets unless a new layout is generated or Sands Works approves the change in writing.
· Installing on a roof type, roof profile, finish, or roof condition not covered by this warranty or not approved in writing by Sands Works.
If a bracket shown on the layout cannot physically be installed because of gable-end trim, flashing, a roof obstruction, or another unforeseen field condition, the bracket may be relocated upslope as follows unless Sands Works provides different written guidance:
· If another row exists upslope, install the obstructed bracket approximately halfway between the original row and the next upslope row.
· If only one row exists, install the obstructed bracket approximately halfway between the original row and the full panel length upslope.
· Do not omit the bracket. Do not move the entire row. Do not ignore required edge-case brackets or row heights.
This obstruction rule is intended to preserve coverage when a small number of brackets cannot be installed exactly where shown for a legitimate physical reason. It does not permit redesigning the layout, omitting brackets, widening spacing, or changing row locations without written approval from Sands Works.
Subject to all requirements and exclusions in this warranty, Sands Works warrants covered Snow Arc Guard™ brackets against manufacturing defects in the bracket itself during the warranty period. Covered manufacturing defects may include layer separation, cracking, brittleness, or cracking under the stated load rating when the bracket was installed according to the warranty requirements and failed under covered snow or ice loading conditions.
Dimensional concerns are covered only when Sands Works determines that the bracket was manufactured incorrectly and that the dimensional condition caused the covered failure. This warranty does not require Sands Works to publish detailed inspection dimensions or accept customer-created dimensional criteria not issued by Sands Works.
The calculator layout is an installation reference for bracket model, quantity, row location, and bracket center spacing based on customer-entered roof inputs. If the customer entered accurate measurements, used the correct covered roof type, followed the generated layout exactly or substantially as allowed by this warranty, followed the installation instructions, used the approved adhesive, allowed proper adhesive cure time, and a Snow Arc Guard™ bracket still fails because the calculator generated an incorrect spacing or placement recommendation, Sands Works may replace the affected bracket(s) and any additional bracket(s) Sands Works determines are needed to restore a stable Snow Arc Guard™ layout for the affected roof area.
Calculator-layout coverage is limited to replacement of affected Snow Arc Guard™ bracket(s) and any additional bracket(s) needed to restore the snow-retention layout. It does not cover roof damage, adhesive failure, installation labor, property damage, shipping, snow or ice release, customer measurement error, changed field placement, failure to follow the layout, failure to follow installation instructions, or failure to allow proper adhesive cure time.
Snow Arc Guard™ brackets are intended to resist normal color fading, chalking, peeling, cracking, and UV-related degradation under normal weather exposure for the ten-year warranty period. Normal weather exposure includes ordinary sun, snow, ice, rain, heat, freezing, and freeze-thaw cycling.
Loss of gloss alone is not considered a covered color failure. Gloss can be affected by dust, airborne abrasion, surface contamination, cleaning methods, and other conditions that do not necessarily indicate bracket failure.
Snow Arc Guard™ brackets are intended to tolerate normal snow and ice conditions, including ice expansion against the bracket, when installed according to the approved layout and installation requirements. A broken bracket caused by normal snow or ice loading may be eligible for replacement if the other warranty requirements are met. Damage to the roof, building, gutters, trim, property, or other materials from ice dams, ice movement, snow movement, or water intrusion is not covered.
The stated bracket load ratings are Snow Arc Guard™ bracket ratings based on Sands Works documented test conditions. They are static bracket load ratings and are not a warranty of the roof system, adhesive bond, installed assembly, roof panels, customer measurements, installation workmanship, or snow and ice behavior.
Field performance depends on layout, installation, adhesive cure, roof surface condition, roof system condition, snow and ice conditions, roof geometry, and other project-specific factors. Snow Arc Guard™ brackets are intended to reduce snow movement by holding snow in place on the roof surface; they do not eliminate roof loading, eliminate all snow movement, prevent ice dams, or guarantee that snow or ice will never release.
Snow Arc Guard™ brackets must be installed using Everseal Surebond SB-190 adhesive. Any SB-190 color may be used, but the adhesive must be the same Everseal Surebond SB-190 formula unless Sands Works approves another adhesive in writing before installation. No other adhesive has been tested by Sands Works for this warranty.
Sands Works does not warranty the adhesive itself, adhesive failure, surface preparation, cure conditions, or the roof surface to which the adhesive is applied. The minimum adhesive application temperature and cure requirements must be followed according to the adhesive manufacturer’s current instructions. Installing below the required temperature, exposing brackets to load before cure, or installing on wet, oily, dusty, contaminated, or otherwise unsuitable surfaces may void coverage.
Under the design conditions for which Snow Arc Guard™ was developed, the bracket is intended to reach its design limit before a properly prepared SB-190 adhesive bond fails. If a bracket detaches from the roof without breaking, this generally indicates an installation, surface-preparation, contamination, temperature, cure-time, roof-surface, or adhesive issue rather than a covered bracket manufacturing defect.
To preserve warranty eligibility, the installer must:
· Use the correct Snow Arc Guard™ model for the layout, or a stronger Snow Arc Guard™ model as allowed by this warranty.
· Install all brackets shown on the generated or custom layout drawing.
· Install the quantity shown on the layout drawing unless additional brackets are installed without widening spacing or changing row heights.
· Place each bracket at the center location shown on the layout, except for the obstruction rule allowed by this warranty.
· Follow the required bracket spacing, row locations, edge-case brackets, edge-relief brackets, dense-stagger rows, mounting locations, and roof-panel lip locations shown on the layout.
· Use Everseal Surebond SB-190 adhesive unless Sands Works approves another adhesive in writing before installation.
· Clean the roof bonding surface and bracket bonding surface so they are dry and free from dust, oil, dirt, liquids, fingerprints, and other contaminants before bonding.
· Follow the adhesive manufacturer’s temperature, surface-preparation, application, and cure instructions.
· Allow the adhesive to cure before exposing brackets to intentional loading, pulling, twisting, testing, or unusual stress.
· Perform required seam reinforcement where brackets are installed near panel seams when the layout or installation guide requires it.
· Follow the Snow Arc Guard™ installation guide and any written project-specific guidance from Sands Works.
This warranty does not cover:
· Adhesive failure or the adhesive itself.
· Installation labor, removal labor, reinstallation labor, roof access costs, lifts, ladders, equipment, travel, or contractor charges.
· Replacement-part shipping costs or customer return-shipping costs.
· Roof damage, roofing panel failure, roof dents, roof deformation, roof leaks, gutter damage, trim damage, property damage, or damage to any building component.
· Improper installation, incorrect surface preparation, contaminated bonding surfaces, wet surfaces, oily surfaces, dirty surfaces, fingerprints on cleaned bonding surfaces, or failure to follow adhesive cure instructions.
· Installing below the adhesive manufacturer’s required temperature or exposing brackets to load before proper cure.
· Failure caused by roof installation defects, loose panels, incorrectly installed roofing systems, rust, corrosion, hail damage, pre-existing roof damage, or damaged roof finishes.
· Hail damage, fire damage, heat damage, melted brackets, impact damage, tree branches, misuse, abuse, vandalism, alterations, or modifications.
· Industrial solvents, harsh chemicals, harsh cleaners, abrasive cleaning, pressure-washing abuse, or chemical exposure outside normal weather conditions.
· Gloss loss alone, surface dulling from dust or airborne abrasion, or cosmetic surface changes that do not affect bracket function.
· Damage from ice dams, snow or ice release, water intrusion, or any damage to the house or property caused by snow, ice, or water.
· Installing the wrong quantity, wrong spacing, wrong row location, wrong bracket model, wrong roof type, or wrong roof profile.
· Substituting a weaker bracket model for a stronger bracket model used in the layout drawing without a new layout or written Sands Works approval.
· Omitting edge-case brackets, edge-relief brackets, dense-stagger brackets, or any other bracket shown on the layout drawing.
· Failure caused by customer measurement error, incorrect roof inputs, incorrect roof shape, incorrect panel length, incorrect pitch, incorrect snow depth, or failure to preserve the layout drawing used for installation.
· Any liability for damage resulting from improper layout, incorrect installation, or failure to follow instructions.
· Consequential, incidental, special, indirect, property, roof, adhesive, installation, labor, shipping, snow-release, ice-release, water-intrusion, or other damages excluded by this warranty.
Roof age alone does not void the warranty. However, rust, corrosion, hail damage, damaged paint, damaged roof panels, loose panels, contaminated surfaces, or other roof conditions that prevent proper installation or performance are not covered.
Normal outdoor weather exposure is covered as described in this warranty. Coastal salt spray, ordinary animal waste exposure, and ordinary fertilizer exposure are not automatically excluded as bracket-color conditions. However, this warranty still does not cover adhesive failure, roof-surface failure, chemical damage, industrial solvents, fire damage, heat damage, melted brackets, or damage to the roof or building.
Modifying a Snow Arc Guard™ bracket voids warranty coverage for the modified bracket and may void coverage for the affected roof section if the modification changes system performance. Prohibited modifications include painting, drilling, cutting, sanding, grinding, heating, reshaping, adding holes, adding attachments, gluing other objects to the bracket, or otherwise altering the bracket unless Sands Works approves the modification in writing before it is performed.
To start a warranty claim, the customer should contact Sands Works at info@sandsworks.com or through the Snow Arc Guard™ website or app at snowarcguards.sandsworks.com when available. Sands Works may update the claim-submission method in the future.
A claim should include as much of the following information as possible:
· ORID, Quote Request ID, order number, or other order identifier.
· Installation address.
· Name of homeowner, contractor, installer, or purchaser when available.
· Approximate delivery date or installation date.
· The generated Snow Arc Guard™ layout drawing, custom layout drawing, or enough information for Sands Works to locate the layout drawing on file.
· Photos of the roof section where the brackets are installed.
· Close photos of the failed bracket(s) or condition being claimed.
· Photos showing the installed bracket spacing, row locations, edge brackets, and surrounding roof condition.
· The number of brackets requested for replacement.
· Any relevant description of snow, ice, weather, or field conditions at the time of failure.
At minimum, the claimant must provide enough information for Sands Works to verify that the product was purchased, associated with a covered installation, and installed according to an approved layout. For direct orders, the ORID/order number is normally required so Sands Works can confirm payment and retrieve the layout record.
For contractor-stocked installations where the homeowner’s house may not have been the original paid order address, Sands Works may still honor the warranty if the claimant provides enough secondary evidence to reasonably correlate the installed product to a covered installation. This may include the installation address, contractor information, a bulk-purchase ORID/order number if available, installed bracket model(s), photos of the house and roof section, and evidence sufficient for Sands Works to match the house or roof section to layout drawings on file or to a layout drawing produced by the claimant.
If Sands Works cannot locate or verify a layout drawing matching the affected roof section, and the claimant cannot provide the generated layout drawing or a written Sands Works layout approval, warranty coverage is void for that roof section because Sands Works cannot determine whether the layout requirement was met.
Sands Works may request additional photos, measurements, explanations, order records, installer information, or other supporting evidence before deciding a claim. Sands Works retains the right to request a site visit when reasonably necessary, but site visits are not guaranteed and are not required for every claim. Sands Works generally does not require failed brackets to be returned because they may not be removable from the roof without damaging the roof surface, but Sands Works may request additional evidence if the available information is insufficient.
Sands Works will review the submitted information to determine whether the reported condition appears to be caused by a covered bracket manufacturing defect, a covered calculator-layout error, a covered color/UV condition, normal snow or ice loading, installation conditions, adhesive conditions, roof conditions, impact damage, omitted brackets, wrong model selection, incorrect layout use, or another excluded cause.
If photos show tree damage, impact damage, fire damage, hail damage, roof damage, adhesive detachment without bracket breakage, omitted brackets, wrong row heights, wider-than-approved spacing, a weaker substituted bracket model, wrong roof type, wrong adhesive, or another excluded cause, Sands Works may deny the claim.
If Sands Works determines that the claim is covered, Sands Works will approve replacement of the bracket(s) needed to restore the affected Snow Arc Guard™ snow-retention system as described in this warranty.
The sole remedy under this warranty is replacement of the affected Snow Arc Guard™ bracket or brackets, and any additional Snow Arc Guard™ bracket or brackets Sands Works determines are reasonably needed to restore a stable layout for the affected roof area. Sands Works may provide the same model, an updated version, an equivalent model, or a stronger model at its discretion.
Sands Works will not replace all brackets on an entire roof section unless Sands Works determines that doing so is necessary to restore the affected snow-retention system. In many cases, Sands Works may replace one failed bracket with one or more replacement brackets placed adjacent to or upslope of the original location. A failed bracket may be left attached to the roof surface if removal could damage the roof.
No refunds, labor reimbursement, roof repairs, installation costs, removal costs, reinstallation costs, equipment costs, travel costs, adhesive, replacement adhesive, shipping costs, property-damage compensation, snow-release compensation, ice-release compensation, or other compensation will be provided.
The customer is responsible for shipping costs for warranty replacement parts unless Sands Works agrees otherwise in writing. Warranty replacement shipments do not include Everseal Surebond SB-190 adhesive unless Sands Works expressly chooses to include adhesive outside the warranty as a courtesy.
If the original bracket model or version is no longer available, Sands Works may substitute an updated version, equivalent model, or stronger Snow Arc Guard™ model at its discretion. Product substitutions do not restart or extend the original warranty period unless Sands Works provides a written warranty extension.
This warranty is written primarily for customer-installed or contractor-installed products. If Sands Works is separately hired in writing to install Snow Arc Guard™ brackets, Sands Works may provide installation-related coverage only to the extent stated in the written installation agreement. Unless a written installation agreement says otherwise, this limited product warranty still controls product warranty remedies and limitations.
In no event shall Sands Works’ total liability exceed the original purchase price paid for the affected Snow Arc Guard™ products. Sands Works is not liable for consequential, incidental, special, indirect, property, roof, adhesive, installation, labor, shipping, snow-release, ice-release, water-intrusion, loss-of-use, lost-profit, or other damages excluded by this warranty.
This limitation applies to claims based on warranty, contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, statute, or any other legal theory to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Except for the express limited warranty stated in this document, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sands Works disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability and any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.
Any implied warranties that cannot be disclaimed under applicable law are limited to the shortest period permitted by law and, in any event, shall not exceed the ten-year express warranty period stated in this document.
Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by state.
This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Before filing any formal dispute, the customer and Sands Works agree to first attempt informal resolution. The customer must provide written notice of the dispute to Sands Works with enough information to identify the order, installation, claim, and requested remedy. Sands Works will have a reasonable opportunity to review the issue and respond.
If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this warranty, the covered product, or a warranty claim shall be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, rather than in court, except where applicable law does not allow arbitration or where a party brings an individual claim in small claims court within that court’s jurisdiction.
Unless the parties agree otherwise in writing, arbitration shall take place in Illinois or by remote/video procedure when permitted by the arbitrator. The arbitrator shall apply Illinois law and shall have authority to award only the remedies available under this warranty and applicable law. The arbitrator shall not have authority to conduct class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceedings unless Sands Works agrees in writing or applicable law requires otherwise.
Each party is responsible for its own attorney fees, expert fees, and costs unless the arbitrator determines that applicable law requires a different allocation. The arbitration filing, administrative, and arbitrator fees shall be allocated according to the rules of the arbitration forum or as required by applicable law.
This arbitration section is intended to be enforceable to the maximum extent permitted by law. If any portion is found unenforceable, the remaining portions shall remain in effect where permitted.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, limitations on implied warranties, or certain arbitration provisions. If any limitation, exclusion, disclaimer, or dispute-resolution provision in this warranty is not permitted by applicable law, that provision shall apply only to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining warranty terms shall remain in effect.
No routine maintenance is required to keep this warranty in effect. However, the warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, impact, fire, heat, harsh chemicals, roof damage, adhesive failure, improper cleaning, modifications, or other excluded causes.
This warranty is intended to be fair to honest customers while protecting Sands Works from claims caused by missing layout information, incorrect installation, omitted brackets, wrong roof type, wrong adhesive, changed spacing, wrong bracket substitutions, roof damage, adhesive failure, or other conditions outside the covered product itself. Sands Works intends to take care of legitimate covered failures, but the layout drawing and installation requirements are essential because they define how the Snow Arc Guard™ system is expected to perform.
