Snow Arc Guard™ is an adhesive-mounted snow retention system from Sands Works designed specifically for Stile Spanish Tile metal roofing systems. Each project includes calculator-generated layouts that determine bracket quantity, spacing, and row placement based on your roof dimensions, pitch, snow load, and selected bracket model.
When selected, laid out, and installed according to the approved layout and Installation Guide, Snow Arc Guard™ brackets help manage snow and ice movement on compatible Stile Spanish Tile metal roofing systems without drilling or roof penetrations.
Actual snow and ice behavior depends on roof conditions, weather, installation quality, roof geometry, roof pitch, snow depth, and other project-specific factors. Snow Arc Guard™ is intended to assist with snow retention and does not eliminate all snow or ice movement.
Snow Arc Guard™ is designed for Stile Spanish Tile metal roofing systems. The bracket shape, mounting position, and calculator layout workflow are based on this roof profile.
Snow Arc Guard™ is currently documented and warrantied only for Stile Spanish Tile metal roofing systems. Do not order or install for another roof profile unless Sands Works provides written project-specific guidance, including whether any warranty coverage applies.
• Designed specifically for Stile Spanish Tile metal roofing systems
• No drilling
• No roof penetrations
• Adhesive-mounted installation
• Multiple models (customers can request or suggest new designs)
• Calculator-generated layouts for bracket quantity, spacing, and row placement
• Available in standard colors, with custom color options by request
Snow Arc Guard™ brackets have been tested through destructive load testing, sustained load testing, and field exposure.
Testing performed or documented by Sands Works includes:
• 150+ final product samples destructively tested.
• 20-ton press used for load testing.
• 120-hour sustained load testing.
• SAG 015 Oval example: 308 lb load for 120 hours @ 80°F, 0.002 in permanent deformation, no cracking, and no structural failure.
• Selected Snow Arc Guard™ installations observed in Central Illinois service for approximately five years with no observed bracket failures, UV cracking, brittleness, or color fading in those observed installations.
All brackets are assigned a load rating lower than typical observed failure loads. The selected value is derived using statistical variation in test results to reduce the likelihood of bracket failure under the documented test method.
Snow Arc Guard™ brackets are installed with Everseal Surebond SB-190 adhesive.
SB-190 is a one-part sealant used for snow guard adhesion. According to manufacturer information, it is compatible with plastic, metal, fiberglass, vinyl, wood, painted metals, and specialty finishes such as Kynar®.
Manufacturer information also lists:
• Elongation up to 500%.
• Tensile strength up to 2,000 psi after cure.
• Minimum application temperature of 50°F.
• Cure time of 7–28 days depending on conditions.
Important: Adhesive cure time is critical to system performance. Colder temperatures slow or may stall curing.
Snow Arc Guard™ does not warranty the adhesive itself. If a bracket separates from the roof instead of breaking, that generally indicates installation, surface-preparation, temperature, contamination, or cure-time issues rather than bracket strength failure.
Every order includes a calculator-generated layout showing:
· Bracket model & quantity
· Row locations
· Spacing
· Installation reference drawings
Snow Arc Guard™ layouts are created with the Snow Arc Guard™ Calculator App. The calculator layout is an installation reference for bracket model, quantity, row location, and bracket center spacing based on customer-entered roof dimensions, pitch, roof shape, snow depth, and selected bracket model.
Important: Correct measurements matter. Incorrect roof width, panel length, pitch, snow depth, roof shape, or bracket model can produce an incorrect layout and may void warranty coverage.
Snow Arc Guard™ brackets are installed by cleaning the roof surface, applying SB-190 adhesive to the bracket, pressing the bracket into the marked location, finishing the adhesive edge, and allowing the adhesive to cure.
Complete installation instructions are provided in the Snow Arc Guard™ Installation Guide.
Snow Arc Guard™ brackets are installed using Everseal Surebond SB-190 adhesive.
When installed according to the Installation Guide:
· No drilling
· No roof penetrations
· Minimum installation temperature: 50°F
· Use the approved Snow Arc Guard™ layout to qualify for the 10-year limited warranty
Published load ratings are based on documented Sands Works testing of Snow Arc Guard™ brackets under controlled test conditions. Actual installed performance depends on roof conditions, installation quality, adhesive bond, roof geometry, snow loading, and other project-specific factors.
Warranty coverage and installation requirements are governed solely by the Snow Arc Guard™ Limited Warranty and Installation Guide. The approved Snow Arc Guard™ layout must be followed to qualify for warranty coverage.
