Snow Arc Guard™
FAQ
Need a Roof Layout, Quote, or Order?
Need a Roof Layout, Quote, or Order?
Not always. Some projects use partial coverage snow retention across a select few roofing surfaces. Others use full coverage (all roof surfaces). The right layout depends on the roof, snow conditions, and areas below the roof.
Yes, but it must follow a custom Sands Works layout. An example is shown here: SnowArcGuards/blog/TargetedCoverageExample. Do not place snow gaurds randomly above a doorway. a layout is required to ensure the layout actually performs as intended. You can request 'Targeted' coverage when filling out a roof section layout within the Snow Arc Guard™ Calculator App →. Do not guess bracket quantity or spacing. Use the calculator layout or a custom Sands Works layout. Field changes can affect performance and may void warranty coverage.
No. Snow Arc Guard™ brackets are currently documented and warrantied only for Stile Spanish Tile metal roofing systems unless Sands Works provides written project-specific guidance.
No. When installed as directed, Snow Arc Guard™ brackets are adhesive-mounted and do not require drilling or roof penetrations.
Incorrect measurements can produce an incorrect layout and may void warranty coverage if undersized. Verify roof width, panel length, pitch, shape, snow depth, model, and quantity before installing. See the Measure My Roof - Guide for tips on how to measure.
Roof area alone is not enough. Layout depends on roof width, panel length, pitch, shape, snow depth, bracket model, and placement requirements.
Do not reduce quantity or change spacing from the generated layout unless Sands Works provides a revised layout. Changing quantity or spacing can affect performance and may void warranty coverage.
Use the generated layout drawing. It shows bracket row locations, spacing, and center locations for each roof section. How to use the App to get a layout→
Request layout help before installing. Technical layout review means Sands Works reviews submitted roof inputs and layout conditions for Snow Arc Guard™ bracket placement. It is not a structural roof evaluation, roof inspection, code review, or professional engineering certification unless Sands Works stated otherwise in writing.
Do not install from a layout that requires review until Sands Works provides the final layout or instructions.
Snow Arc Guard™ brackets can be installed over a targeted area instead of an entire roof section.
Please do three things to trigger this service by Sands Works:
Review this example here: SnowArcGuards/blog/TargetedCoverageExample
Add the word “Targeted” to a rectangular shaped roof section in the Roof Calculator in order to communicate you need an updated layout for targeted coverage use.
Enter in the width of coverage you would like
Enter in the panel length as indicated
Under Review Options, click the “My roof has complex geometry” checkbox.
At the end of entering all your roof sections and selecting the bracket color you desire, simply submit your order request and Sands Works will update your layout or send a custom layout within a few business days.
Snow Arc Guard™ brackets are installed with Everseal Surebond SB-190 adhesive.
SB-190 is a one-part sealant used for snow guard adhesion. According to manufacturer information, it is compatible with plastic, metal, fiberglass, vinyl, wood, painted metals, and specialty finishes such as Kynar®.
Important: The minimum adhesive application temperature is 50°F.
Important: Do not install below 50°F. Colder temperatures slow or may stall curing.
Important: Typical cure time is 7–28 days depending on conditions.
Important: Cold temperatures, moisture, installation conditions, adhesive thickness, and other factors can affect cure time. Do not intentionally load, pull, twist, or test brackets before cure is complete.
Use the Snow Arc Guard™ Calculator App → to create a roof layout. The calculator layout is an installation reference for bracket model, quantity, row location, and bracket center spacing based on your entered roof dimensions, roof shape, pitch, selected bracket model, and snow depth.
Do not guess bracket quantity or spacing.
For most roofs, yes. If customers are able to safely access the desired roof surface(s) to install Snow Arc Guard™ brackets, then the answer is yes. follow the generated layout, clean the surfaces properly, and allow the adhesive to cure per the Installation Manual.
If roof access is unsafe or you are not comfortable working on the roof or standing on a ladder to access the Eve of the roof, then hire a qualified installer.
Before checkout, at the bottom of the page, you can select colors that match your roof color.
If you prefer another color not listed, you will need to provide the Pantone color code of the color you desire within the Order Menu.
Custom color availability, lead time, price, and color match expectations should be confirmed before purchase.
Custom colors are generally made for a specific customer request and may not be returnable unless Sands Works confirms otherwise in writing.

The Snow Arc Guard™ Limited Warranty→ covers manufacturing defects in Snow Arc Guard™ brackets, bracket failures caused by covered manufacturing defects, and certain layout errors generated by the Snow Arc Guard™ Roof Calculator when accurate roof measurements and other required information were entered by the customer and the generated layout or an approved replacement layout was followed.
To qualify for calculator-related coverage, the roof measurements and other required inputs must be accurate, the correct roof type must be selected, the approved layout must be followed, the installation instructions must be followed, the specified adhesive must be used, and the adhesive must be allowed to fully cure. The generated layout drawing is considered part of the product and must be substantially followed unless Sands Works provides a written replacement layout.
If a covered claim is approved, Sands Works' sole obligation is, at its discretion, to repair or replace the affected Snow Arc Guard™ products. The warranty does not cover labor, installation or removal costs, roof repairs, shipping charges, incidental or consequential damages, or refunds. Sands Works' total liability is limited to the original purchase price of the affected Snow Arc Guard™ products.
This FAQ is only a summary. The Snow Arc Guard™ Limited Warranty governs all warranty terms, exclusions, claim procedures, and available remedies.
Standard Snow Arc Guard™ products may be returned within 30 days of delivery if they are unused and returned in new condition. Approved returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee, and the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

If you believe you installed a defective product, please refer to the Snow Arc Guard™ Limited Warranty found on our Warranty Info→ page for coverage and claim procedures.
The Snow Arc Guard™ Limited Warranty→ does not cover damage or failures resulting from improper installation, inaccurate customer-provided measurements or roof information, failure to follow the approved layout or installation instructions, use of unapproved materials, inadequate surface preparation or adhesive cure time, roof or roofing system defects, modifications, misuse, abuse, impact damage, chemical exposure, pressure washing, or normal wear and weathering beyond the warranty's stated coverage.
The warranty also does not cover the adhesive itself, roof damage, installation or removal labor, shipping costs, loss of use, or incidental, consequential, special, indirect, or property damages.
For calculator-generated layouts, coverage applies only when all required inputs are accurate and the approved layout is substantially followed. It does not cover errors caused by inaccurate measurements or other customer-provided information, field modifications to the layout, installation deviations, roof defects, or adhesive failure.
Important: If a bracket is installed on or within 4” of a panel seam, the Installation Guide requires SB-190 seam reinforcement. Failure to perform required seam reinforcement near panel seams is an installation defect and may void warranty coverage, including any resulting panel deformation, roof damage, adhesive failure, or system performance issue.
What happens if a bracket peels off?
If a bracket peels off the roof instead of breaking, that generally indicates installation, surface-preparation, temperature, contamination, or cure-time issues rather than bracket strength failure.
A new bracket can be purchased and installed. Please reach out to Sands Works if you need to order less than 10 brackets for a repair not covered under the Warranty Info→.
If you believe a Snow Arc Guard™ bracket has failed, save the bracket, take clear photos of the bracket and the installation, and keep your layout drawing and order information.
Sands Works will review the claim to determine whether the failure appears to be related to a manufacturing defect, an approved calculator layout, installation, roof conditions, impact damage, misuse, adhesive performance, or another cause. If the claim is covered under the Snow Arc Guard™ Limited Warranty, Sands Works will provide the applicable remedy described in the warranty.
No. Do not clean Snow Arc Guards™ with acetone, solvents, harsh cleaners, abrasive cleaners, or chemicals that may attack the bracket, finish, adhesive, or roof surface.
Although it is not necessary to clean your brackets to retain their function and strength, you can use mild detergents compatible with the bracket, adhesive, and roof surface.
Pressure washing is not recommended for Snow Arc Guard™ brackets. Any resulting damage is not covered under the warranty. Snow Arc Guard™ brackets can be pressure washed at a very low pressure from a distance of at least 12 inches but, damage resulting from improper pressure washing is not covered under the Limited Warranty.
Important: Avoid using high pressure, aggressive nozzles, close spray distances, or directing water at the adhesive edge, as these may damage the bracket, adhesive bond, roof finish, or roof surface and may affect warranty coverage.
No. Snow Arc Guard™ does not warranty the roof system, roofing panels, roof installation, roof coating, roof finish, or roof damage.
No. Snow Arc Guard™ does not warranty the adhesive itself or adhesive failure.
Important: Adhesive performance is mainly dependent upon surface preparation, application temperature, cure time, roof surface condition, installer technique, and if panel seam reinforcement was required near a given bracket.
Roof installation defects or incorrectly installed roofing systems are not covered by the Snow Arc Guard™ warranty.
If the roof panels, seams, coating, profile, attachment, or structure are not installed correctly, resolve those roof issues before installing snow guards.
